Philosophy
Homeschooling is a great choice for many students and families. It allows students to learn at their own pace and according to their own strengths and interests. It removes some of the difficulties of a traditional school, such as peer pressure, objetiionable content, boredom (hopefully!), wasted time, etc.
As a consultant, I support the parent. I bring a wealth of experience from homeschooling, tutoring, volunteering in traditional schools, and professional careers, and I use that experience to help you create the homeschool you want for your kid(s), given your strengths and limitations.
Every kid and every family is unique and precious. I enjoy finding solutions that work for a quirky, non-standard situation. I have a conservative Christian worldview, so I chose a mix of Christian and secular materials for use in my homeschool, but that may not be right for you. I look forward to the special challenge you bring!
Availability
Homeschool consulting is available through email, phone, web meeting (for example, Zoom), or in person in the greater Columbus, OH, area. I will consider travel outside the Columbus area on a limited basis. Hours are flexible. If you are local, consider talking while we hike through a Metropark.
