KT Education draws inspiration from the Kitchen Table.
The kitchen table is often scarred and battered, but some of our best work and some of our best conversations happen there. It is a place to be ourselves, to be practical, to make a difference for the next generation. KT Education is about providing the best education possible, leveraging the strengths of the family and each individual, grounded in a balance of dreams and reality, as if sitting around the timeworn kitchen table.
KT Ed provides a variety of services related to education outside the traditional school system. Services include information and resources for parents and others educating children, consulting to assist parents or others who are homeschooling, and tutoring (sometimes with parental participation).
Barbara, the founder of KT Education, has extensive formal education in the areas of engineering, business, and education. She has worked in the automotive industry, on faculty at a research university, and in a small software business. She homeschooled her daughter during high school and has tutored students with various needs in a wide range of circumstances. Her breadth of experience in education at all levels, with struggling students, and in the world students are being educated to enter, provides a unique perspective on how and what students should learn.
